Ely Cathedral The Cathedral, open daily, is one of England's finest and oldest Cathedrals dating back to 673. Known locally as the "Ship of the Fens" it is famous for its Octagon Tower which shines a beacon of light which can be seen from miles around. More recently it has featured in films such as The Kings Speech and The Other Boleyn Girl. Oliver Cromwell’s House The former Lord Protector' family home featuring an exhibition on 17th Century life, the Civil War and Oliver Cromwell’s connections with the Fens. There are eight period rooms, exhibitions and video to enhance your experience. Oliver Cromwell's House is also the Ely Tourist Information Centre Ely Museum & The Stained Glass Museum The Museum is the history centre for the Isle of Ely and the Fens. Located in the centre of the city, it takes you on a journey through time from prehistory to the twentieth century. Hidden within Ely Cathedral it is uniquely dedicated to the art of stained glass. There is a display of over 100 original stained glass panels dating from the early 13th century to the present day.
